Histoire : Le reporter Frank Ross dénonce dans un journal les affaires de corruption impliquant je juge Hanley. Ce dernier, pour se venger, lui réserve un mauvais tour. Envoyé en prison, Frank Ross fait la connaissance de Stanley avec lequel il conclut rapidement un pacte. Le reporter va aider le truand et en échange de sa liberté, il devra trouver les coupables de son agression.
